Hot spot tethering on an iPhone sucks compared to a Pixel

My Xfinity internet was down basically all day yesterday. I then tried to tether my desktop to my iPhone 15 Pro Max WIFI hotspot using Tmobile’s 5G LTE. It would connect but then disconnect within a few minutes. I thought maybe it was because my screen turned off. I turned the screen back on and it still cut out. I wasn’t even browsing any apps; I was on the hot spot settings screen. After 5 minutes of disconnections, I fired up one of my Pixel 7 phones. It also had a Tmobile sim card in it. I connected my desktop to it and used the internet just fine all day. Both phones were in the same place. The only difference is that the iPhone has dual esims, but I didn’t allow data switching to the Xfinity line, so both phones were using Tmobile. Maybe I needed to restart my iPhone since I hadn’t done that in a while?

Later in the afternoon, even when I wasn’t tethering and after I had restarted my iPhone, it seemed just browsing the web was brutally slow. That’s with data switching turned on. It just made no sense why it was so slow. Anyway, I’m just glad I had the Pixel laying around for me to have a solid hot spot. So get yourself a Pixel or any Android phone just in case you ever need to tether.
