Deal Dead – Walmart’s store pricing allowing shipments

Last Saturday, I’m not sure if someone figured out a glitch or it was already there the whole time, but someone found out that if you searched for say this EXACT Samsung 65″ TV on Walmart.com, the price would be $647.99. However, if you changed your zip code to a store in 97801, the TV would come up as $300. However, when you tried to check out, it would revert back to $648. HOWEVER, if you added to your cart an item that was giftable (say, a $1 case of pencils,) then you could gift the TV to your address from that 97801 zip code/store and be able to buy the TV for $300. I believe it’s because the TV was marked down in that specific store but this gift loophole allowed anyone to get the item for that price versus just shoppers of that store.

All day Saturday, lots of deals came up like kid’s bikes, vacuums, arcade machines, weight sets, a smoker, a propane burner, etc etc. Just a MASSIVE amount of deals. The deal died by Sunday morning (maybe someone from the Walmart.com team finally figured it out or maybe all the traffic from DDF killed it.)

Then to make matters worse for themselves, Walmart cancelled a bunch of items on Sunday. However because the logistical chain was already in motion, some people still received the items even though it had been cancelled, so a double whammy for Walmart. I highly doubt we’ll see this happen again now that Walmart has patched up the loophole, but it was fun while it lasted.
