I love Fiverr

fiverr

Introduction

I love Fiverr.com.  I’ve used it a couple of times now.  It’s so cheap that I wish I looked through all of their services just so I could use more of it.  Actually hold up, let me go look to see what else they can do [queue hold music.]   Okay, I’m back.  I did find a guy who could fix my WordPress template.  I may do that.  Anyway, I’ll tell you what I’ve used Fiverr for so far.

Web site logo

As you can see, I’ve redesigned my web site recently.  I had someone on Fiverr create my logo for me.  This is what I told her what I wanted:

Hi,

I need following Information for make a killer logo.

1. Text for the logo
2. Colors for the logo
3. If you like to have an icon to your logo please give me some instructions for that..
4. If you have any sample logos please attach them..

Thank you Very Much for Ordering my gig…

Hi,

1. Text will be “Miles per Day” and “Manufactured Spend Stories” as a subscript (see my web site now)
2. Light blue with white font perhaps or any color that would match with my web site color scheme now. Or maybe the background should be white. You decide on what looks nice.
3. I do want an icon. I want an icon that looks like an odometer (from a car) with a cartoon airplane flying away from it at the 2pm position on a clock. So the dial on the odometer changes into a cartooney airplane and flies away from it.
4. No sample logos. Here is my web site now

She was supposed to complete it in a day or two, but it took her a week because she had some internet issues.  I was a bit disappointed since this was my first Fiverr experience, but I was in no rush, so whatever.  Eventually, she sent me 3 sample logos, which all looked nice.  I only asked her to tweak the font color in one logo, but what you see is basically what she initially delivered.

Google Voice Accounts

Hey, I could have made these myself, but why do it myself when I can pay someone a quarter to do this for me?  That’s a no-brainer!  Now why do I need GV accounts?  I’ll let you think about this one.

Fixing my WordPress template

So just now, as I was browsing around Fiverr to see what else I can spend five dollars on, I found a guy who can fix WordPress templates.  I’d like my theme to be widened.  I don’t know why these free WordPress templates think people are still using a CRT monitor with a 640×480 browser.  So I’ll probably pay this randomguy $5 to do that.

Other uses

I know my buddy Chasing the Points used Fiverr for that nifty infographic on his 20K challenge results (I know, I know, I’m way overdue with mine.)  I know DoC has also mentioned Fiverr once too.  If you need something done but you have no Photoshop skills, I suggest you go check them out.  Okay, I just Google’d to see if they have a referral program and looks like they do, so if you want a free Fiverr gig, use my referral.  I’ll get $5 if you’ve spent $10.  I don’t care if you use it or not, but $5 beats $0 and trust me, this post wasn’t meant to blatantly plug a $5 referral credit.

By the way, as I was washing my car the other day, I wish I could have paid someone to come over and wash my car.  I looked on Task Rabbit, but couldn’t see it on there.  Someone needs to make a twentyer.com or something for more expensive tasks.  Better yet, can someone come up with a web site where I can list what I want someone to do (e.g. wash my car) and then people then ‘bid’ on the gig.  Then I’ll look at people who has the highest reviews and give them the job.  They’ll then come and wash my car.  Once they complete it, I say the gig is Complete, the site pays the guy and the site keeps a cut.  Think of it as an Uber for any/all side jobs.  Let’s make this happen someone!

  1. My friend was wishing for something like that too (physical gigs) because Task Rabbit was too expensive for him…I think he did post something on Craigslist but you know how trustworthy Craigslist is…

P.S. You can create custom tasks on Task Rabbit…no guarantee someone will do it though

  2. **And TopCashBack pays 100% cashback, up to $7. I actually used TCB earlier this month for Fiverr, but I believe it was at a $14 max at the time. Either way, the gig didn’t properly track and they manually processed a $52 credit (100% @ $52).

    1. Damn, why didn’t I think of that. I figured it was already so cheap at $5, there’s NO WAY they would pay out portals too. Haha. Let me go find some random crap to do then since now it’s FREE via TCB. Thanks for the #protip.
