Twitter, loss aversion, and site update

Twitter

I wrote about why you need to get on Twitter here.  And due to the AMEX offers this week #AMEXOFFICEDEPOT and #AMEXSTAPLES, it seems you need to be on Twitter or at least set yourself up for Offerbots to get in on the deals before they are all taken up.  That aside though, I seem to be using it more and more.  I’ll usually tweet random stuff like, “Oh hey, my coworker just used 60K miles to upgrade his Seattle to Hawaii trip after I told him I spent 70K miles to fly First class to South Africa.”  Small stuff that isn’t worthy of a blog post.  I don’t use it to read about the Taylor Swift and Nikki Minaj Twitter feud or anything like that.  I  do like interacting with you guys on there.  Think of it as #Taylurking.  So if you ever need to get a hold of me, Tweet or DM me.  I usually respond pretty quickly.

AMEX Offers

Speaking of AMEX Offers, man, I don’t know if I’m more sad that I missed out on the OD deal or if I’m more happy that I got the Staples deal.  I think I’m more sad due to loss aversion.  I then stayed up the following 2 nights until midnight PST, waiting for another AMEX offer that never came.

Site Update

As you can see, I went back to the full emails.  My traffic increased by almost exactly the number of subscribers (glad I was worth the click through.)  That amounted to a very minor bump in ad revenue, which amounts to less than feeding a 3rd world child a meal a day.  That’s why I’ve decided to add 2 consulting services to the site.  For new people who want to get into manufactured spend, I can help walk you through it.  I have also added an award booking service, whereby you don’t get just me, but you get my 2 other pals who will help you spend all those miles you’ve MS’ed to get you the best use of your miles.  You can see more in the Services tab on the web page.

Lastly, I realize the emails are formatted horrendously.  I don’t know how to fix that.  Or maybe I don’t want to fix it, so that you’ll click through to the site?  Hmmmmm…..

And lastly, you guys will be surprised at the commission with Amazon links.  So while I don’t have any cc affiliate links, if you want to support the site, if you are buying stuff on Amazon, click through to the ad on the site and buy the item.  It’ll help me earn enough for a 2nd meal a day.  😉

  1. You know, I was just beginning to consider asking if you ever did counseling for MS. Once the current deal i am doing runs its course I will totally hit you up for some help expanding to new stores.

    1. I haven’t done one yet, so not sure how it’ll go. I can go over the national deals (published and unpublished,) but I won’t know about your specific area (if you have a working kate, what groc stores are in your area, etc). I can help go over concepts – if you have a working kate 5 minutes from your house, then there is no need to switch to Redbird, etc.

      1. Reselling is really where my passion is. and once this deal is dead, I am really going to need to diversify. Of course I have been thinking the deal was going to end any minute now for over a month… So we will see how soon that will be

  2. You should get some cc affiliate links! 🙂 I’d use them! 🙂 But the award booking service is a great idea. And I’ll use your Amazon link next time! I’ll rotate amongst the cool bloggers to help support you guys 😀

    1. I don’t have close to enough traffic for cc links. But I will appreciate the Amazon clicks. Thanks!
