Sorry for the lack of posts the last couple of days. I’ve been in Cape Town and chose to spend time enjoying my vacation rather than writing blog posts. I do have lots of posts that I want to write, so you’ll get them when I get back. I will break up the trip report into multiple parts, but I’ll post a big chunk of them all in one day. The reason for that is so each post can be easily searched on Google, and if you ever decide to go to Cape Town and was trying to decide which hotel to stay at, then a separate post would be more useful to you than something embedded. Plus, the only other blogger I know that went to South Africa was TPG, and his trip review didn’t seem thorough enough.
Anyway, as you’re reading this, I’ll probably be on my Emirates flight from Cape Town to Dubai. We’ll be there for about 36 hours before we make our way to SFO and then SEA. Why didn’t I go direct to SEA? Uhhh because one of my bucket list items is the shower on the A380. I realize some people think it’s ludicrous, but to me, it’s going to be ridiculously awesome. And I probably will only do it once; next time, I’d probably just fly direct to Seattle.
vinh, I’m assuming you booked this thru AS… prolly a while ago? have you been following recent developments of acct shutdowns for award bookings/large balances etc and have you gotten any blowback from AS?
