Dell officially bans me from ordering

Last week, I tried to place an order from Dell on the phone. It was for some Echo Show devices, so it wasn’t like a PS5. I had been successful making phone orders for the past year so thought nothing of it. So I called them up and the guy sent me the quote for the order. I then told him I wanted to use 2 gift cards plus 1 credit card on the order. He told me I could only use 1 gift card. I pushed back and he then put me on hold while he asked a supervisor.

A few minutes later, the supervisor came on and told me I was essentially banned from Dell because I had placed too many orders and I was a reseller. The guy did mention that even though I may not be a reseller, just the volume of orders makes it suspicious. Not quite sure how I’m going to get around this ban, but we’ll see – prob call in with a new phone number, new address, email, etc should do it.

Either way, I’ve never seen a company who hates money as much as Dell.

  1. Fresh address is all I needed to get back in. Although they all seem to have a limited life span, as their “volume” to ban you is quite low.

  2. Dell has refused to take my money for over a year now. The occasional new name and address and phone number used to get the odd order through but wouldn’t last long. I think finally it’s just my home address connected to all the credit cards I want to use that gets me an automatic ban regardless of any variation of email or phone number on an account. Not sure how to ever buy anything at Dell again until I get a new home address.

  3. Try chat & ask to be emailed a quote. Fresh name, phone, email & address should get you going again. Clean IP wouldn’t hurt either.

    1. I’m amazed you made it through registration. They wouldn’t let me apply as I didn’t have a brick and mortar store to “partner” with them as an “official” reseller. Although I run a legit resale business.
