Cancelling my Lucid Air Pure reservation

My Lucid rep called me last week to see if I still wanted to keep my Lucid Air Pure reservation, and I told her I wanted to cancel my reservation. I had put down a $300 deposit back in early May 2022. I was going to trade in my Tesla and get the Lucid, but I have heard nothing about the Air Pure (no Tiktok’s or word of mouth or anything.) Plus for the price of $85K, I’d rather just put that money towards the dual motor Rivian R1S, which I just locked in a $1K non-refundable deposit a few days ago (estimated delivery if Jan-Feb 2024 but who really knows when it’ll get built.)

      1. We still have 2 Tesla Model 3 in our household. The Rivian takes the best of Tesla – the controls, the acceleration – and packs it in a more luxurious package. The visibility is better, the interior is nicer, the air suspension is much better than the stiff ride of the M3. However, the Rivian’s autopilot feature is not there yet, and it cannot yet access the Supercharger network – hopefully these improvements would come soon.

        1. Ah good to know. I have EAP now and I just want the car to stay in the lane, speed up and slow down to speed and possibly change lanes when I hit the turn signal. And also slow down during curves (I remember the 3 didn’t use to do that when I got it a long time ago.) Can the Rivian do all that now?

          1. It would do that on most highways, but not on secondary roads like Tesla or other ADAS systems do. If trying to engage Driver+ on an unsupported road, you get a chime and an error message.
Compared to Tesla, however, the blind spot monitoring is better (you get an actual chime), and the 360 degree vision is great for parking.
