AMEX doesn’t target me for any AU offers

I had picked up both a business platinum and gold card for my mom about 2.5 months ago. I had done the online AU offers (5K after $2K), which were good. I met the sub on the Gold card and waited for points to post, and then I had her call in yesterday to upgrade the Gold card to a Platinum card. After that was done, I asked the rep to check her business platinum for any AU offers. She told me of the 99 AU offers (5K after $2K) and we proceeded to add 89 AUs since I already got 10 online.

Anyway, the point of this post is that while my mom and wife have been getting these 99 AU offers on their business cards, I haven’t gotten ANY in the last 2 years – on newer cards and even on existing cards. I wonder if it’s because I had gotten so many AU’s back in the Amex Offers heyday or if it’s because I’m maxed out on the 10 charge card limit… I’m just not sure.

I know a handful of other people who are in this same boat and it does seem the common denominator is that we’ve been in the game for a while. I haven’t heard of anyone who is newer to the game or non-heavy hitters have this same issue. Not sure how we get out of this hole or even if we can get out of the hole. Oh well.

  1. When someone gets 99 au do you provide 99 different names to Amex and actually receive 99 separate Amex credit cards in the mail?

    1. I have the same question as harv. Or are ppl just adding their own name 99x and getting 99 different CCs in their own name?

      1. Also, is a SSN EVER required for a AU Biz Amex, or is it like a personal Amex where you have like 60 or 90 days to have the card and you are supposed to provide them with an SSN before then or they will supposedly shut that card down if not received?

        1. Finally, I suppose the answer is Yes since you have already done this, but do you really think it’s worth the hassle (and risk of an Amex shutdown) to add 99 AUs and have to spend $2k on each of those AU cards for just a paltry 5k pts? That’s really only a $55 bonus (or I suppose $77 with some Amex Biz Plat book and cxl shenanigans) for spending $2k, so only a 2.8-3.8% bonus. But requires a lot of hassle/record-keeping to keep track of which cards need spending, etc. Not to mention the risk of total acct shutdown if Amex decides you are gaming them by opening 99 AU accts. All for just a paltry ~3% bonus?
