Starbucks bans my account

It was about 6 months ago when I tried to do one of the Starbucks spin games where you had to log into your account and spin the wheel. For some reason, I couldn’t log in and even after a password reset, I couldn’t log in. I didn’t think much of it and last week, I tried to log in again and same issue. I then called up their help desk and the lady was confused too and said she’d escalate the issue. It’s been a week now and I haven’t heard back. Well after asking a few folks, they confirmed that I’m most likely banned from my account.

The odd thing is that I’m still logged into the app and can still use the barcode and my remaining stars (and even the gift card that’s in the account.) I’ve heard that usually they log you out of all devices and you’re toast. Luckily I didn’t try to log myself out last week trying to resolve this password issue.

So why was I banned? I’m not really sure. My Starbucks Chase was banned a long time ago, but I can’t recall the last time I tried to log into the site. I hear it was maybe because I had once amassed 10K stars in my account (due to the MS I was doing on the debit card.

Anyhow, the lesson learned for today – screenshot your Starbucks reward account in case you ever get axed so that you can at least drain your remaining stars.

  1. I’ve been following you getting the axe by different companies for some years now but I have to admit that I’m supremely impressed by this one. What the hell could you possibly have done to warrant this? For the love of god it’s Starbucks.

    1. He’s possibly the only person to ever have 10k stars in his account. I’m sure that attracted unwanted eyes in the account.
