A new album can raise resell prices significantly

I had bought some Maren Morris tickets back in mid January for a NY show in early May.  The tickets were cheap at around $51 all in.  I waited about a month to list them and they just SUCKED.  Prices were decreasingly weekly, which means just dump it and move on to the next gig.  My first sale was in early February for a -19% ROI.  Two weeks later, I had my worst sale at -46% ROI.  Then it sort of recovered some a week later at just a -34% ROI.  Then a week after that, some -23% ROI.  On March 4, she released her second album (3 years after her first album,) and prices slowly crept up.  I sold some on 3/10 for -7% ROI and then 3 days later, I was actually up 17%.  I immeditely raised my prices some more, and if I can get $100 a ticket, I’d be at a nearly +75% ROI.

Lesson Learned for today – it made no sense for her to go on tour without a new album, so do some research to see if there is a new album coming out.  If it does and is a big hit, then you should see a sizeable bump in ticket prices.  Also see Ariana Grande tickets after her recent album dropped.
