Success – My Victoria’s Secret card experiment

About 2 months ago, I signed up for the Victoria’s Secret credit card.  Not because I shop there a lot or anything.  It wasn’t even for the signon bonus, which I think was a $15 off my next purchase.  No, it was so I could send Evolve payments to the card in hopes I could then request a refund check sent back to me.  Well, in the 2 months I’ve had the card and when Evolve let you send USBank gift cards fee-free, I sent $4,000 worth of payments to the VS card.  I just got my 2nd statement the other day and on the 2nd page, I see this doozy.  It basically says that because I have a credit balance on my card, I can call the number and ask for the refund to be sent via ACH.  Are you kidding me?  Can it BE any easier?  So I called them up (Comenity Bank), and after 2 minutes, he told me that due to the size of the refund, it would take up to 21 days.  Whatever.  That’s fine by me.  All of this without a hard hit on my credit report!  Now that Evolve is pretty much dead to me, this deal is also basically dead too.  Now I have to make sure my wife doesn’t buy anything when I get the catalogs.
