January was a pretty slow miles and points month because most retailers had shopping portal bonuses in December. My points strategy is also different from most people as well since I have a pretty healthy balance in most of my accounts already, and so I just try to get cashback these days. My go-to card the Wells Fargo Visa Signature 5% card is about to end in 2 months, and so I wanted to rack up as much spend as possible. With the Kroger store limiting purchases to less than 2K per trip, I had to do more trips than I normally would. I was also able to get 3 Redbird cards this month, and I think once my WF ends, I can stop buying gift cards to load at Walmart and just load directly at Targets.
My strategy for February – buy as many gift cards as possible before my 5% ends!
