Signing up for a Clinkle debit card

I signed up for Clinkle about a week ago.  You will need a .edu email address to get the card fast, or you’ll be on a waiting list behind 150,000 other people.  Most alumni colleges will give you an .edu email address, so check to see if you have one.  The premise of Clinkle seems to be that you add your real bank’s debit card to the Clinkle debit card that they are mailing you and you use the Clinkle card to use in stores.  Every time you use the Clinkle debit card, you win ‘treats,’ but not for yourself, for you to send to your friends (who probably need a Clinkle account too).  I’m not sure how Clinkle is making money since I’m sure your real bank’s debit card is earning the swipe fees.

If you want to sign up, download the app on either Android or iOS.  Once you set it up, you can enter in a referral code on the main page’s top tab (just tap on it).  Use my referral code EVRP879 and we’ll both get $10.  Once we are both up and running, we can send each other “Treats.”  I hear a free Chipotle burrito is the first “treat” that they give you.

Cards I’m going to try to add to the Clinkle debit card – UFB (this is probably a sure thing), Paypal debit Mastercard (maybe), prepaid debits (I doubt these will work).  I wouldn’t add any ‘real’ debit cards from Chase, WF, BoA (basically any non-rewards card debit cards).
