I had applied for some AMEX cards on Friday. At the end of the approval process, AMEX asks if you want your card number now or you can wait. For the first app, I stupidly chose “I’ll wait.”
For the 2nd app, I went ahead and clicked on “Get my card number now.” And then I waited…and waited…and waited… probably for over 5 minutes. Then I got this message, showing me that I’m going to get a $60 credit due to their terrible IT.
I tried it a 3rd time, and after over 15 minutes, it gave me a similar screen, but no $60 offer.
Lesson Learned – whether you need it or not, always pick “Get my card number now” just in case you win the $60 lottery.
