Sign up for USPS Informed Delivery

Introduction

I vaguely heard about USPS Informed Delivery many months ago, but it wasn’t available in my area.  When Esther told me about it a few weeks ago, I’m pretty sure it said it still wasn’t available.  However, when I was signing up for it for my PO Box a few days ago, I logged in to my account and was able to get it for my home address now.  It seems as of April 14th, it’s rolled out pretty much nationwide.  You can sign up for it here – https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action

In action

Every morning at around 7AM PST, I get an email with all the mail that’s coming to me today (see below).  It’s awesome!

Conclusion

Unfortunately, you can’t have multiple addresses per login, so you’ll need to create new accounts for any PO Boxes you own.  I barely check my PO BOX, so this will help me see what’s arriving.  Not sure if this will show me UPS or Fedex dropoffs at my PO BOX.  I’m guessing NOT but you never know.

  1. My USPS and Informed Delivery are never eligible for my zip code… even though the Informed Delivery map and the zip code check says it is. Wonder if there is something wrong with the my zip code’s -#### number.

  2. Pretty cool, thanks for the heads up. So when I’ve got $4,000 of GCs in the mail and they don’t show up at least I have some proof.

  3. Got this a few weeks back too … except every morning it’s a big let down when all I see are lawn care ads, Capital One bonuses, Discover bonuses, and Harry+David catalogs. hahah
