A couple of months ago, I thought I’d get cute and redeem for some $1000 Home Depot gift cards on the C1 portal. Over a span of 3-4 days, I was able to redem it on 3 accounts. However, 2 accounts got the axe the next day. I couldn’t figure out why those 2 accounts got the axe since it seemed kind of random; the accounts were over a year old and probably only had $1k-$2k of total redemptions. It finally clicked a few days later that they were probably clipped because of the $1K redemption. You see, usually $500 redemptions are instant, but the $1K ones gave you a screen that says it’s pending. Then the next day, you get it over email. That means eyes were put on your account. So lesson learned – it’s just not worth the risk to redeem for a $1000 GC on the C1 shopping portal. I also wouldn’t redeem two $500 cards back to back either since you risk the 2nd one getting the pending screen. So take it slow and steady on those $500 redemptions on C1.
