How long does it take for FNBO to post your JAL miles

I don’t have the exact timing, but it takes about 45 days from your statement close to see your miles post to the JAL site. For instance, my 2nd statement closed on 6/13/25 and today is 7/28/25 and I see the miles already in my account.

Here’s my life status points accrual so far. This jives in that I’ve spent $131,533. You earn 5 status points for every $1500, so $131K / $1.5K = 87 * 5 = 435.

I think I need to get to the JGC Three Star to get that Oneworld Emerald Sapphire for life.

  1. Stupid question: if you want the lifetime sapphire benefits when flying, do you need to credit the flight to JAL? Won’t that kill status earning with your domestic airline?

Or can you somehow connect your JAL lifetime sapphire to your flight while still crediting your domestic to earn miles/status?

    1. Well if you already have lifetime sapphire, why do you need to get status again on AS or AA?

Does this also mean you’ll then have to credit every Oneworld flight to your JAL account since you’d need to enter your JAL number to get the benefits of Sapphire? I’m guessing YES but unsure.

  2. Everything I say could be wrong and its all from researching it. So please take anything of this as a grain of salt, from the flyertalks and the Youtubers this is how I understand things to be.

JGC 3 star will get you sapphire (ms through card $450k)

You need JGC Premier to get Lifetime Emerald, its do able If you fly JAL and acquire enough fly on points. JMB member who has accrued at least 80,000 FLY ON Points (including 40,000 FLY ON Points on JAL Group flights), or JMB member who has attained at least 80 flights (including at least 40 JAL Group flights) and 25,000 FLY ON Points

    Hope this helps

      1. Yeap, when you finish this MS journey you will have JGC 3 star which is OW lifetime sapphire permanently (renewal 2k/yr). You get a green jal card which shows OW sapphire. You basically have lifetime biz lounge on OW.

I think they keep things confusing for non japanese members intentionally. Think of JGC like most hotels lifetime time status requirements. For Hilton you need 10 years diamond and 1000 nights or 2 million base points. Well JGC 3 star is our 10 years of being diamond, if you wanna go higher you gotta do mattress runs. which honestly is very do able over time and you already pre-qualified by getting into JGC.

        FLY ON Points:
        .
Accumulate 80,000 FLY ON Points, with a minimum of 40,000 points earned on JAL Group flights.

        FLY ON Segments:
        .
Alternatively, accumulate 80 segments (flights), including a minimum of 40 JAL Group flights, and accrue 25,000 FLY ON Points.

once you finish the flying your OW Emerald 4 life. Im def way Jelly of you, U got this. Just keep going
