Last month, I had spent $41K on the JAL card. I was more locked in this month, logging in every day to check the current balance and paying it off ASAP. Thus, I spent $90K this month. I definitely could have spent more but the $13.5K CL is the bottleneck. It also seems that I’ve trained the card to clear CL faster now that I’ve been making regular payments. I should have one more good month of around $90K, but July will be hard due to the death of Simon. If I switch to Costco, the charges are too slow to post, so it may only be $50K or so of spend. I could also witch to in-store MS, which is what I think I’ll do, but I grocery store VGC suck due to velocity limits, so most likely it’ll be a mix of both Costco and VGC.
On another note, none of the points have posted to my JAL account yet. I heard that can take up to 90 days. I’ll keep you posted next month.
First off, I think it’s great that you’re doing this. I’m too much of a lightweight so it’s fun to vicariously enjoy things by seeing you do this challenge. Do you anticipate getting much use/value from the miles themselves?

I would say it’s an extremely fast. do you have happen to know how long the app process takes? I applied on 6/13 and the app is still pending.
Took about a week or so. Wait for snail mail.
