How long does Alaska post the EQM on the Alaska Visa credit card spend

Bank of America and Alaska said that starting in 2024, for every $10K of credit card spend, you’d get 4K of EQM miles with a max of 20K EQMs (so $50K of spend on the credit card.) Here’s how that’s working out for me. This is what shows in my Alaska history.

As of 4/26/24, Alaska has given me 4K EQM miles. If you sum up just the ‘Signature card activity’ lines, you’ll notice that on 1/10, I had $4K of spend and on 2/10, I had $8K of spend. That would qualify me for the first 4K EQM miles. On 3/9, I spent $18K and that should give me another 12K EQM miles, which I haven’t seen. So it’s taking the full 8 weeks+ for your EQMs to post.

Not sure what would happen if you tried to go nuts charging in November 2024 (trying to hit the next MVP tier) for it to post to Alaska in December – whether the EQM would backdate to 2024 or roll over to 2025. I’m assuming it’d backdate, but if I were you, I wouldn’t cut it close.

  1. Very helpful screenshot and commentary. I just crossed the card spending threshhold in the last month for the first 4K of bonus EQMs. The award miles have posted but the EQMs have not. Thanks for sharing your experience.
