I was cleaning out my office a few weeks ago and noticed I still had my Canon 5DM2 and a 24-105 lens for it. I bought those items probably a decade ago and haven’t used them for about a decade. They’ve literally been collecting dust all this time.
I eventually put them on EBay and got about $700 before fees (the lens got more than the body.) I think they cost me $3,000 back in the day. With phone cameras being so good and convenient these days, I just couldn’t see myself carrying around a 5 pound big camera anymore, even on vacation. Even smaller new handheld cameras are probably better quality than the big DSLR. I’m just mad I didn’t sell all of it years ago.
