I’m sure a lot of you are still on the old Magenta or Simple Choice plans. Well it seems Tmobile is going to force people to upgrade to the new Go5G plans. See article here. “Customers can opt out by contacting support after October 17th. Notifications will begin going out on that date via email and SMS.”
Here’s what the migration would look like for me if I don’t opt out.
Kinda surprised they are doing this since they used to be very “Uncarrier” and promising that we’ll never pay more. Well, I guess shareholders are more important than customers. They’re just slowly becoming ATT/Verizon.

Much appreciated for the heads up, Vinh!!
I have a “ONE Plan Unlimited 55” — 2 lines for $60. I haven’t received anything about moving me to one of the newer plans. What I do see, however, is that in November, the $10 AutoPay discount will no longer be available if you use a credit card. You must use a bank account or debit card. But what if you make a payment(s) with a 5x credit card during the month before the AutoPay date leaving a zero balance on the due date? Is that a good work around?
I don’ t know the answer to that, but I currently have a negative balance and still getting $10 autopay discounts
ah, the uncarrier. I’ll be getting unupgraded for sure
Thanks…this is something to watch for.
I’m going to be downloading some older bills to be able to compare.
I’m on an older Military program (I’m not even sure what it is) but I see that they have some newer Military pricing plans attached to their new Go5G plans – giving 40% off.
But, as you and the article you link indicate – getting a percentage off a newer, higher price…could still lead to a price hike overall.
