UPS Express skips 2nd delivery attempt and delivers to an Access Point instead

I don’t know if this is new (maybe since the new union contract,) or it’s been a while that I’ve missed a UPS Express delivery, but I had my first delivery attempt on Monday. Then on Tuesday, I get a text from UPS saying my packages were delivered to a Michael’s store nearby. I never asked for that to happen. This apparently also happened to someone else recently too. I’m not sure if this is the new protocol, but it sucks. Let me know in comments if this has happened to you lately.

  1. We’d all prefer repeat attempts to deliver direct, but I see this as a big improvement over the alternative which is where it get left at a UPS or Fedex distribution center as these are often way out of the way.
