The only way I can get Dell orders to go through

I’ve never seen a company that hates sales as much as Dell. Supposedly they’ll label you as a reseller if you make more than 6 purchases within 6 months or whatever the silly rule is. I’ve tried to use a different address in the past, which worked for 2 orders before I think they linked the accounts and started to cancel my orders. I’ve tried to play around with my address using a new email and that was a no go.

The only way I could get orders to stick was to call Dell and get a quote. They then email you the quote and you can then guest checkout and that’s it. So far I’ve had a 100% success rate with those orders (I don’t order laptops or anything to BG’s though.) The other day I read that you can just chat with them instead of calling in. So I tried that and sure enough, it’s the same process and works just fine. I did get one nosy chat agent who asked me why I couldn’t order it online. I told them my orders were cancelled if I order online. He then asked me why I had so many orders and if I was a reseller. I told him I wasn’t a reseller and made up an excuse as to why I was placing so many orders (I had 9 orders in the first half of 2023.) He was fine with my answer and sent me a quote and I got a shipping confirmation a day later.

Of course this route doesn’t let you get any portal cashback, but at this point, I just want to use up my Biz Plat credits. Also, you can split payments over 2 cards, so you can buy something for $400 if you want. I suggest you do that to minimize the amount of orders you are pushing through. Anyhow, give this a shot if you’ve been getting cancelled orders.

  1. Dell is a strange one. They have great profit potentiometer w/ offer stacks, I had 10% back and 20% backs on Amex at some point (up to $1k+), but sure enough, cancelled forever after about 6.

I did recently try a 2nd address, same experience, worked until 6 or so, but oddly enough, I got a couple guest orders through to my main address after that, but only a couple before getting axed again.

I’ve tried this work around, but after BG selling, quotes do nothing.

    1. Dang sorry to hear. I have heard some others can’t go this route too. They must really hate you then.

      1. lol. Yup. Anything related to my address, guest or otherwise, is apparently toxic. They aren’t taking my money no matter how hard I try to give it to them. So weird.
