How I did on those Taylor Swift Eras tickets

I really didn’t want to resell her tickets just because I thought they’d be a dud with all the extra shows added, but I had gotten 2 verified fan codes for her Houston saturday show because I’m a super fan by buying her signed Midnights CD from her website (and also made great money on those.) Anyway, the sale was at 8AM PT, but I overslept (oops.) It was good and bad because I heard Ticketmaster WAS A SHIT SHOW! Anyway, I tried to get into the queue at like 9AM PT but the queue was paused. By 11AM PT, I moved to a laptop and restarted my queue. I of course forgot about it and when I went back at 3PM, apparently I got in but because I wasn’t there, I’d have to re-enter the queue. So I got back into the queue at 3PM on my phone and forgot about it.

Around 4:30PM, I checked my phone and noticed I was able to get in. However, there was like only 5-6 pairs left at $99 a piece. I wasn’t sure if they’d be money makers, but I checked Vivid and the lowest seats were close to $400. I then went back to buy them, but fans kept beating me to them. Then by 4:40PM, all the tickets were gone. BUMMER. I was in my car in a parking lot and was about to give up, but I refreshed again for shits and giggles. TONS of seats popped up and not only that, they were $49 tickets. In a rush, I tried to get 5 tickets and lo and behold, I got them! It seems Ticketmaster released these shitty behind the stage tickets that late in the game.

I immediately listed them because I knew prices would tank. By 5:30PM, all 5 sold. I feel bad for the buyer because prices are going to crater once the on sale happens and when the show date nears, but hey, they wanted to lock in tickets tonight and not have to deal with the shit show over the next few days. I tried to buy on my 2nd account around 5PM, but it seems all the $49 tickets were all gone by then, so that was the last batch they released for the day.

In hindsight I should have stuck with Seattle. Those prices are crazy high and she’s still only doing 2 shows there (my guess is she adds a 3rd) vs 3 in Houston. Funny enough, Cincinnati is also crazy high because like I said, no one goes there.

Addendum – if you hate me scalping these tickets, hey you had EIGHT hours to buy tickets. Didn’t get a VF fan code? Maybe you should have bought stuff from her web site to get boosted like I did. So you had the same chances to get tickets.

  1. I helped my son buy 4 tickets to Tampa yesterday. After 1 hour I was ready to give up but on one last refresh I got them at $1692 total. He just sold them for $2,900 profit, lol. I also got 2 floor tickets that weren’t resold yet.

      1. Really just curious… How are y’all selling them when you can’t transfer them? Any idea when they’ll be transferable? I’m just trying to sell to friends who couldn’t get in at cost.

        1. They will be transferable before the show. In Stubhub, you can pick the date you’ll transfer the tickets and just pick the latest date.

  2. To quote the pop muse herself:

‘Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play (Vinh)
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
