While Paceline told me on the phone that was my account was closed, seeing as how I couldn’t make any more charges, I believed them. Well, they had sent a letter to tell my wife her account was closed, but they never sent me a letter, which I found odd. Yesterday I got this email:
I found it odd that they would re-activate my account, so I logged in and saw this:
The $202.86 I’m guessing is them cutting me a check for the negative balance I had when I had paid off the card but then my boosts came in on 7/21. Ever since then, there had been no more Apple Watch credits. So they seem to have gone back in and retroactively applied my Apple Watch credits even though I can’t use the card anymore. My guess is their lawyers told them they couldn’t close my card due to the watch credits, so they would just suspend my charging ability but keep the account open to receive the watch credits. I’m a bit shocked that they wouldn’t have just axed me for good, but I guess i can’t complain. Lesson learned here is to take advantage of the Watch offer because they’ll still pay those out even after you’re axed.
Did you hit 150 minutes for the weeks prior to July 31 and august 6? I’m in the same boat with you but currently have a small balance on the card. I just paid off the minimum balance today with the idea that I would pay the interest and keep getting the Apple credits. Perhaps it makes sense to just pay off the whole balance…
Also, were you ever able to use the P2 card or did they just close it before use? I tried for P2 application (same address) but it never even hit a credit bureau. Says I’ll get a letter but one never came and also says can apply again in 30 days.
1. I’ve been hitting 150 min even after shutdown. You don’t need to carry a balance to keep getting the credits from my experience.
2. P2 used the card for about a month before the axe.
I got balance down to $0. 2 weeks prior says credit was applied (but no change to balance). This past week hit 150 minutes and says missed credit. I appealed to support but they said they can’t help due to my card’s inactive status. Weak…
