I follow this guy on Tiktok who does car reviews in like 15 seconds. I love it just because that’s the attention span I have these days. Well, he did a review of the Rivian R1T and I was hooked! This was probably the 3rd time I had seen a review of the R1T, but for some reason, even though the title of the review says “Is an 835HP…” for some reason, that made me look Google the weight of the truck and sure enough it weighs >9000 pounds. This is important because it would qualify for a section 179 deduction.
I then went onto the Rivian web site and noticed that actually have an SUV version called the R1S (seen in pic above.) Why do I like it? First off, 300 miles is fine for me. I liked all the storage options and the tech that’s in it. I also wanted an electric SUV that qualifies for section 179 and I didn’t want the Tesla X. I can now replace my old SUV when this arrives.
My delivery date won’t be until 2023 and I’m hoping the $7500 tax credit still works by then. It’s too bad I didn’t preorder an R1T a long time ago seeing as how they are going for $140K these days.
Why not wait for the cybertruck?
Don’t care for it
