Chase shuts down my wife a 3rd time

My wife was banned by Chase for the 2nd time last year. Well recently, I got her a CSP a few months ago. We didn’t go nuts on the card at all. We spent $3K in the first month and then $1K the 2nd month. The only thing that got eyes on our account was I didn’t have autopay on the card and so we missed the first payment and got hit with a late payment and some finance charges. However, that doesn’t sound like what did us in. It just seems that Chase finally realized she had been banned twice before and so they wanted her gone again.

Luckily, I still got the 80K signup bonus and was able to transfer that out. I guess I’ll wait another year before trying to get back for a 4th time. Sigh…

  1. The same story – got a letter first. Usually, you find out a shutdown when your card does not work. It’s been probably 4th or 5th Chase shutdown for me – the last card had lasted for more than 2 years. I’m surprised.

      1. I did learn how to be invisible. But I still did some MS on the card (it was a Hyatt card). So I earned me elite status, free nights with it. It was a good ride.

  2. good that chase still let folks redeemed pts after a shutdown;

    wow, the appl did get approve 1 yr after the 2nd ban? Lol, ya’ll could try another product next yr as u said; if successful, quickly meet spend then redeem pts in case the acct happens to be axed again

  3. I got banned from Barclay 4-5 years ago and have never been able to get approved again. Consider yourself lucky if Chase lets you back in a year.

  4. Did you transfer out the points after you found about the account was being shut down, or before? I know chase typically allows 30 days after account closure to transfer out points and I am curious if they’re still following that rule if you had previous shutdowns.
