My new go to traveling and all around shorts

I had been looking for a good pair of Lululemon shorts, but I eventually gave up. My big gripe with their shorts is that the pockets aren’t deep enough, and I’d be too paranoid that my phone would slip out. I also didn’t want to go the cargo shorts route yet in this state of my life. I love my Public Rec sweatpants and naturally I wanted to give the shorts a try.

Here’s what I need in shorts – 4 pockets. Front deep pockets that my phone wouldn’t fall out. Some kind of enclosure in the back (zip or button.) Breathable, comfortable, and a bit stylish. I think the Public Rec shorts fit most of the criteria. They fit and feel like sweatpants, the front pockets are zippered and the back pockets have a flap (just like their sweatpants.) They are more stylish than khaki shorts or cargo pants. I think it’s a win-win.

If you know of any Lululemon shorts that compare to this, let me know.

  1. I have a few pairs of paddle board shorts. All pockets are zippered, they’re all quick dry, and most would look good in the office too. Any of the surf brands will have them. I got some from AZ for cheap, under $30. O’neill makes all of mine.

  2. Rhone commuter shorts are my new go to. These replaced my ABC shorts as my favorite. Love my Public Rec sweatpants, but they look still looks like sweats so I passed on the shorts. The Rhone’s look much better in person than on the website, and look a little more stylish than ABC’s, and the stretchy material is great. Mobile phone never slips out, one back pocket is zippered for my wallet. I’ve worked out in them when I forgot my workout shorts. I’d think about replacing my ABC pants with the Commuter but they don’t make the pant long enough for me.
