Ebay is ruuuuthless

After banning me last week, Ebay decided to wipe out any associated accounts that were connected to me. You see, I had sold some things for some friends and coworkers and instead of receiving the money to my Paypal account, I entered in their Paypal account so they could get paid directly. Well, on Friday, after axing my account, decided to look at every Paypal account that I had ever used and if anyone had used that same Paypal account too, axed their Ebay account too (even if the Paypal email didn’t match the Ebay email.)

That meant my poor friends and coworkers who hadn’t listed a thing in 6+ months all received an email from Ebay on Friday saying that their account was restricted from selling too. One tried to appeal and they wouldn’t give a reason why.

Ebay has one of the best fraud/gaming detection teams out there. This didn’t seem automated; it seems like someone manually went through and decided to axe everyone who was remotely affiliated with me. This just makes starting up a new Ebay account after getting the axe that much harder.
