Amazon mysteriously re-opens my account, but withheld my gift card balances

Last week, I wrote about how Amazon closed my account w/o any notice due to my high gift card balance.  I hadn’t taken any action on it yet, but replied to the email asking what was in that order number they gave me.  Last night, I got 2 shipment emails from orders I had placed before my shutdown.  Then this morning, I get this email:

We have restored your access to this account and processed any pending orders. You can track the progress of your orders in the “Your Account” section of our website.

When I logged into my account and checked my gift card balance, I see this:

It’s clear that Amazon has confiscated my gift cards.  Luckily I still have those receipts and will be faxing them in to help get my money back.

  1. I have the same issue, after providing them gift card purchase receipt, amazon reinstated my account. A few days later, they blocked my account again.

  2. Did you get your money back yet? Same happened to me but they keep on saying they need more time. Let me know so that I don’t have to waste my time if I’m not gonna get it back.

        1. Yes this is what happened to me. THE EXACT SAME THING. i’ve been calling and calling them asking them for about 2 months now and every time i call they say the same shit. Saying they will escalate the problem to the gift card specialist and i have to wait 2 business days for them to email me they say this every time for 2 months and i still have gotten nothing from amazon. I have the proof and everything which is why my account was unlocked in the first place. then they just take my money withoout telling me why then have the nerves to tell me to wait two business days for a reply i never got? It didn’t take those fuckers 2 business days to steal my money out of my account so it definitely shouldn’t take two business days for them to msg and put it the fuck back
