I was posting some tickets on Stubhub last week and saw this new delivery option – mobile screenshot. It’s even the recommended option. Overall, I think this is good for ticket flips. Let’s look at the advantages and disadvantages of this option.
Advantages
- Now you can sell tickets that TM never let you transfer or sell. They are kind of rare, but they’re out there. This is HUGE.
- You don’t have to deal with people not accepting Ticket transfers. This causes me anxiety because people don’t accept transfers until the day of, and Stubhub may call you up.
- This also means your listings will stay up until show time. I learned last week that Ticket transfer listings end about 4 hours before showtime. Great if you’re doing a firesale
Disadvantages (over ticket transfer)
- Similar to PDF tickets, this won’t get you around being scammed.
Overall, I think the advantages outweigh the risk of the scam. I haven’t personally done it yet. I think a good play is if you’re still holding tickets the day before (which is always a bad sign,) you can switch your tickets from ‘ticket transfer’ and then do mobile screenshot instead. This’ll give you 4 more hours for your firesale.
