I had some Maroon 5 tickets that were MOBILE QR ENTRY ONLY. At the time, I was unsure if I could resell them as mobile QR. I eventually tried to sell them on Ticketmaster, but TM wouldn’t let me drop my price after a certain threshold, which I think is stupid. About 2 weeks out, I knew I’d have a hard time selling them on TM, so I paid ~$5 to convert them to paper tickets. I then listed them on SH, but even then, they weren’t moving. I was sorta pissed off at what a bad flip they were turning out to be that I neglected them. Eventually my listing expired and 2 days away, I decided to just give them away on Twitter (that’s how pissed off I was.) I didn’t even consider trying to sell them on CL or FB; I just wanted them OUT OF MY HOUSE! Luckily, I found a local reader who wanted them. I told him to come by and pick them up, and he wondered why they weren’t electronic tickets. I then went back into the TM app to see if I could view the QR code again, and the app wouldn’t let me go back to QR entry. I might have been able to call TM to see if they could help, but like I said, I wanted nothing else to do with the tickets. So the reader came by and picked up the tickets.
Lesson Learned – once you convert your mobile QR tickets to paper on TM, you can’t go back. I’m sure someone will comment and Google me a link, but at the time, I didn’t know I would want to go back to QR. When in doubt, you want ELECTRONIC TICKETS because you can sell them up until showtime whereas hard tickets listings get removed about a week out from Stubhub. Tomorrow I’ll talk about how disastrous the flip was.
