Introduction
You all should already be subscribed to FM’s lab. If you’re not, you may be missing out on some nuggets. It’s like subscribing to Best Buy promotional emails; you’ll delete the majority of the emails, but once in a blue moon, they’ll send you a free $5 or free $10 for no reason. And so this was posted on the FM lab yesterday:
The nugget
I’m not going to type out the deal because I don’t want it to be searchable, but whoa, that’s a nugget there. I don’t recall ever seeing that egc on Staples, so I’m guessing it’s new and hasn’t been coded to be excluded yet. This also happened when the $300 VGC debuted on the site. Anyhow, I don’t even know if you can GC to GC at the store, but earning 5X + portal is a pretty nice discount if you shop there.
Love the newbs
The point of this post is not about that deal, but the love hate relationship with newbs. Now I don’t know if Jack is a newb or not, but I have a feeling he is. The reason for that is because the oldies would never post that in such a public place. It’s clearly a glitch and will probably die soon now. The great thing about newbs is that they will try new things and will post stuff that maybe they wouldn’t post if they have been in the game for a long time. So that’s why we all love Jack’s post – I wasn’t aware of the deal and while I don’t plan on hitting it, it’s good to know such ‘glitches’ still exist these days.
Hate the newbs
Now if you already knew about the deal, and found some way to scale it, you probably want to grab the pitchfork and head toward’s Jack’s house right about now. Imagine if that was a VGC instead of a store GC… can you imagine the death threats he’d get right about now? Oh man, Jack would have to take his UR and move to the Park Hyatt Maldives!
Conclusion
A newb is your friend when he finds a deal you didn’t know about. If you knew about the deal, DEATH TO ALL NEWBS!
