“Billions”

Ever since I renegotiated my Comcast rates to give me free Showtime, I haven’t watched anything on Showtime yet…until one day I saw this TV show called “Billions.”  I had read about it randomly on Marketwatch, but decided to watch it since it starred the guy from “Homeland.”  Plus, Paul Giamatti (you know the “guy from Sideways”) and Malin Akerman is in it too.  ANYWAY, after watching the whole first season this week, I would highly recommend it.  It’s about a billionaire stock trader…need I say more?  If you like Homeland, Narcos, Breaking Bad, etc, then I think you’ll love this show too.

Target merry go round

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, the Target Ebay merry go round is back…well was back anyway.  You guys know I usually only write about dead deals to help you learn for yourself.  Well, if you had read the comments on Doc’s post or even saw it on Slickdeals, then you knew it was alive again…well up until Thursday afternoon when Target pulled all eBay gift cards.  Then on Thursday around midnight, they became available.  Then on Friday it died again.  Anyway, keep watching this zombie deal.  And for all you blogger haters, just know that Slickdeals thread has 20,000 more views than my viewership (although granted, I’m sure my readers account for more volume than the casual SD’ers.)

A HUUUGE Cluster

A fellow reseller was wanting to buy some Bloomingdale’s gift cards from me.  I had about $4K worth ($3K from Raise and $1K from cancelled orders back from my $20K challenge.)  At the time, I had gotten refunds for thousands of ‘bad’ gift cards from Raise, but there were about $3K that were still working at the time.  Because my account was banned, I was never able to use the gift cards.  And I let them sit…and sit…and sit.  Fast forward to today, all $3K of those gift cards have no balance and the $1K of gift cards that were sent from Bloomie’s themselves have no balance.  If I don’t get this straightened out, this will be $4,000 down the drain.  FFFFFFFFF……  Damn you Raise and Bloomies!  Moral of story – never ever let 3rd party GCs sit idle.

  1. Lost $500 in best buy this way. Just sat on SaveYa and then I went to use them about 2 months later to find $0 balances

  2. Why didn’t you just sell the gift cards to ABC etc. to cash them out a year ago? Or does Raise sell used GC’s? I have never used them before.

    1. Never got into GC selling. Thought I’d eventually buy stuff to resell but didn’t do it.
