Introduction
A couple of weeks ago when I was shipping my iPads in to FBA, when I got to my iPad Air 2 64GB Gold, I noticed the title of the product was missing something. Can you figure it out from the screenshot? This is very frustrating as a seller because you have to believe at one point, the item had the word “Air 2” in it, but some idiot asked for it to renamed and left out the important “2” in the name. It wouldn’t even surprise me if it was a guy who had a lot of Air 1 64GB Gold units who was trying to confuse buyers and liquidate his inventory. Anyway, here’s how to correct product names.
Go to Contact Us
First you want to log into Seller Support and then click on ‘Contact Us’. Then click on ‘Products and Inventory’ and then ‘Product Page Issue.’ Then click on ‘Fix a product page.’
Then search for your item and click on ‘Select Product.’ The following screen pops up. In my instance, all I did was add a “2” in the title. I then chose ‘Authoritative website proof’ and linked to the Apple iPads home page.
I then added in the comment section, “This item and model number is for an iPad Air 2. It is not for the original iPad Air.”
6 hours later
I had created the case around midnight PST. By 6am, I got this response:
Dear Seller,
3 days after that
Then 3 days later, I get this email:
Dear Seller,
Lessons Learned
If some idiot decides to change the title or any other product information, you can request the item to be updated.
Amazon is a giant bureaucracy. Getting somebody to make changes, even glaringly obvious simple changes, is often times very difficult and a total waste of time. How people are able to change titles or pictures to completely different items is beyond me.
I hate when people make stupid changes. You got to be real careful to monitor your ASIN Change Notification emails as that is a quick way to get suspended when some dumba** changes your 2 pack to a 6 pack and then all your customers are expecting a 6 pack and when they get your 2 pack things don’t end well for you.
