Looks like Ebates just increased their cashback portal to give 1.5% on business cards instead of 1%. 99% of people won’t care about this but the 1% of people who have the Ebates Visa card DO CARE because now we’re getting a 4.5% return on our money. This gets me closer to the elusive “5%” rebate that I had with the WF card. This is why you should DEFINITELY sign up for the Ebates Visa card. You don’t have to wait for portals to jump to 2% to get a +4% return on your money.
Remember that you want to buy $2000 denominations to get the cashback credit (don’t buy $3K). I’ve always been able to buy 2K denomination personal cards using a non-AMEX card. On the business side, I would get an instant approval if it was using an AMEX card (like SPG), but if it was a non-AMEX card like my FIA AMEX or this Ebates Visa, I would always get “Order Received” and eventual “Order Denied.” However, on Friday, I was approved using my FIA AMEX. I hope it now works for my Ebates Visa. If not, I may have to drop down to $1K denomination business cards and pay the extra $3.95 to get an extra 0.5%.
How do you liquidate these other than for everyday spend? I am hesitant to do that since the normal cc’s offer much better protection.
I don’t use them for everyday spend. I use them to buy visa gift cards at a grocery store or I load redbird or buy other gift cards on Raise or Cardpool.
