Pretty pissed at FNBO right now because I had used the card on a new site 3 weeks ago and they still haven’t cleared the fraud block. I called them after a week and they said, “Well our fraud team is still looking into it and they’ll call you.” I told them that this happened back in June and they were able to transfer me to that team, who then cleared the FA in a minute. However, they put me on hold and wouldn’t transfer me. I waited another week to call back and same thing that someone will reach out to me. WHAT ASS BACKSWARDS BANK CAN’T CLEAR A FRAUD IN 3 WEEKS!!!
I guess I’ll just have to call back AGAIN tomorrow and keep calling until someone forwards me to their fraud team to clear the stupid block. Lesson learned here is – don’t use this card at multiple sites. Find one or two places that you’re gonna MS with this card and stick to those 2 places. Don’t get cute and try to expand to other sites because they take forever to clear fraud alerts.

Meanwhile, in Chicago, the Priority Pass lounge is garbage and is only at Terminal 5 (the isolated international termina). Getting up to oneworld Sapphire from anyone EXCEPT American Airlines is a huge win, because that gets Flagship Lounge access on all AA flights, regardless of class. I’d be happy to slow-roll my way to Lifetime Sapphire via JAL, if that’s what it takes to keep Flagship Lounge access.
Do you have your mobile phone number listed in the contact settings on the web portal?
I received an email from FNBO today inviting me to add mine to help clear fraud alerts.
They should have mine anyway, as I gave it to them when applying, and they have called me on it before, but when I checked the entry was blank.
Don’t ask to be transferred to the fraud team. Let them know you were just speaking with Mary from the Fraud Team but it was disconnected in which case she told you to call back in. They’ll say that can’t reconnect you with Mary but they’ll transfer you over to someone that can help.
Play up the urgency that Mary really needed you to answer questions.
My issue with this card that my payments take 8-11 days to clear. Ugh. They said because of one payment that was returned ( I tried to use a Fintech bank to pay ) ,by them I might add, now they have to be sure my payments will go through. So the funds leave my acct within a day or two but I can’t access the CL for 8-11 days.
oooph that’s rough
is this spend , just to get Lounge access ? i saw in omat , that oneworld elites are not eligible for upgrades ?
Correct, it won’t give you upgrades on AA/Alaska. The purpose is to earn lifetime OWS, which on AA/Alaska will give you lounge access, priority boarding, seat selection, free checked baggage etc
Thanks for the response. As a infrequent DFW flyer , i believe getting AA or Alaska status by spending on those credit cards yearly makes better sense for me , since having those cards give these priority boarding, seat selection ( mostly booking AA flights using Alska miles) , free checked baggage and priority pass lounge is better than AA lounge here.
AA or Alaska status atleast gives us some chances for upgrades.
