First off, you should be doing this to basically make money on top of the $75 credit. Of course this means no GC but $50 > any GC you were going to buy anyway. I can’t see this lasting until Christmas, so better just use up your Q4 credits asap.
Also, I don’t know if I’m banned but I can’t pay direct on the AMEX site. Others on Reddit have said the same and it’s never been fixed. So I have to go through Paypal to pay and that works. The credit pays out when checking out with Paypal.
Thirdly, the quality of the shirts aren’t what they used to be. Back I don’t know 5 years ago or so, every shirt felt super comfortable or looked really nice. I remember the evolution polo had a very slick fabric and the cut was very flattering. I bought one last week and the fabric felt a bit rough, like a random brand from Macy’s or so. There was nothing special about it. I bought their organic cotton classic shirt, thinking it’d be super soft like Vuori but once again, it was just like any thick cotton shirt [with a bit of stretch] from Macy’s. Like if I had to pick out a tshirt from my closet to wear on a Saturday, this would be the last one. Hell, a regular cotton shirt is nicer than this cuz it doesn’t have that roughness. Hell, don’t get me started on the metal tech vent shirt that they sell. Even the Alo conquer shirt is a better option.
FWIW –
- Vuori Strato Tech Tee – most versatile shirt. Can wear to gym, to sleep, casual weekend shirt. I have like a dozen of these shirts in various colors due to Equinox. The only downside is that it’s not nice enough to wear to like Ruth Chris or to someone’s house.
- Alo Conquer Tee – it’s thicker than the Vuori tee, but it’s just as versatile. Due to it being thicker, it’s not as comfy worn to sleep, but this also makes it look more nice and structured to wear to someone’s house. So it’s a tradeoff – do you want super comfy or to wear outside?
- Lululemon – I used to love their polos, but I don’t think they have any shirt as versatile as the other two. Maybe I’ll try their soft jersey short sleeve shirt and compare. Found a Reddit thread comparing the two; seems a bit mixed. I’ll report back in a week.
