I thought I had caused the wrath of Costco again on myself, but it seems it’s been confirmed by others. So what happened? I had placed some orders on 8/8 and then by Sunday, prices had dropped by quite a bit. I went in and tried to cancel my orders. Naturally, this did nothing. Then on Monday August 11, I got 2 shipments and the “Sorry we can’t cancel your order since it’s already shipped” email. I thought it was odd that only 2 shipped and not all of them like usual. Then on Tuesday, I got 2 more. Then on Wednesday 2 more, etc. This hadn’t happened since the cutover from UPS to Fedex. So it seems for now anyway that Costco is only shipping 2 orders per address per day. Ugh. In the end it worked out because prices have gone back up, but I’d still would rather have items in hand ASAP.
Fast foward to this past Saturday, I got my first Saturday Fedex shipment. I noticed some kind of tracker on the boxes and the driver ripped it off after I signed for the package. I think this is a good thing if it helps with theft and loss by Costco/Fedex. Not sure if all packages will have this going forward or maybe it was just a one-off because it was a Saturday delivery, but I’m all for it.
