How to pay your Bank of America business credit cards with an external checking account

You’d think this post was unnecessary, but I’ve never needed to pay my BoA business cards from an external checking account before. In the past, I’ve just used pay & transfer > make a transfer between accounts. This would let me transfer money from my BoA checking account to the BoA business card. However, I wanted to pay with an external checking account and it’s not clear cut. When I click on ‘make payment’, it leads me to the Payment center that doesn’t have the card listed.

Ironically enough, it has my old personal cards that I cancelled. So what you have to do is click on the ‘add a company or person’ tab. Then click on ‘Credit Cards’ and then BoA and then enter in your business credit card number. It will now be populated in the Payment Center for you to pay. I don’t know why it wasn’t already in the list when you got the card, but we all know BoA hasn’t updated their site in over a decade, so yeah.

  1. When I enter the external bank account, it makes me wait till they send the two test deposits there. Any way around that?
