Chase had shut me down back in late 2019 and I was able to get back in with an Ink Business cash card in June 2021. I didn’t really MS much on the card since I wanted to lay low. Plus I only had a $3K CL on the card. I got both a text and an email yesterday saying this:
Here’s my spend pattern. I spent like $4600 on the card in all of 2022. Nothing in 2023 until December
- December 2023 $1500
- Jan 2024 $20
- Feb $900
- March $0
- April $10K
- May $900
- June $14K
- July $2K
- Aug $0
- Sept $3K
- Current $11K
If you look at the spend pattern, they should have shut me back in April or June when I cycled. Not sure why they’re coming at me now when it’s not even my highest month. I’m guessing MAYBE I had some OTHER personal cards that closed with high balances lately. That or I have been applying or getting new cc’s lately. Just doesn’t really make sense why they’d shut me down for cycling.
Anyway, at least it was nice of them to let me cash out my current points. I could never get a 2nd Chase card anyway, so this isn’t the end of the world.
Addendum – I got the shutdown letter in snail mail. It seems they realized I was previously banned so that’s why they banned me. It just took them a very long time to link my accounts?
