Woke up Monday morning to an email from Discover asking for consent for form 4506-C. I had never heard or read of Discover asking for this. It’s usually just AMEX that asks for this while other banks just shut you down.
So what happened? Well last week, I tried to use a service that rhymes with Blahsheesh. My Discover CL was $8K and I put in a charge for $7650. Mind you that I barely used the card for the past 3 months. The charge posted fine. After that, I then tried to pay it off using a service. While the payments went through, they never seem to have posted. I paid about $6K back. As of this morning, the credits haven’t posted yet, but that’s probably because the payments haven’t been sent yet. The Blahsheesh refund did get posted on Friday (I never went through with the Blahsheesh charge.) Thus, I’m going to assume this was caused by the huge charge.
So lesson learned – don’t put 1 huge charge on your Discover card? I don’t know. Or maybe Discover is getting soft and doing 4506-C’es these days instead of just straight axing you?
I complied and the still shut me down. However I was 20x cycling my card for about a year.
Very impressive
