Ever since I’ve been banned by Chase and my wife as well, I try to stay under 5/24 and keep it low key for my mom. She currently has the Freedom ($5K CL,) FU ($5K CL,) CSR ($12K CL) and the Ink Bold ($30K CL). Her last Chase application was the CSR and the Ink back in 2016. Her last 2 card applications were an AMEX Plat in Oct 2020 and an Amex Blue Biz Cash back in July 2022, so she was at 2/24.
Anyway, I applied for the Ink Preferred back in September for her. Since it had been so long since I had applied for a Chase card, I wasn’t sure if I should call in to recon or not. Last I heard was you let it play it out, and so that’s what I did. I DID NOT CALL RECON. Then 7 days later, I got the approval email for a $5K CL. I then sent a secure message to move $15K CL from the Ink Bold to the new CIP. So the point of this post is that you CAN just let the applications ride out. I think if she had been rejected, I would have called in to recon.
