Archipelago is a Pacific Northwest / Filipino restaurant here in Seattle. They only have 12 seats with 2 seatings per night and took me 3 months to get reservations. Reservations open at the first of the month and is sold out in minutes; for a Friday/Saturday night, probably sold out within 15 seconds. This was the first time I’ve had Filipino fine dining and to be honest, I felt it was more PNW food than Filipino food.
The 10 course tasting menu cost $195 per person and you could add a wine pairing (5 tastings) for $72 pp. We went with some friends and each couple only had 1 pairing; the bill came out to be about $600 per couple after tax and gratuity. I thought it was okay; the portions were slightly on the small side , but they did come around and ask you how hungry you were and portioned your main (the pork) accordingly and even walked around passing out more if you were still hungry. Thus, you shouldn’t leave hungry at all.
I mean, would I recommend it? Sure, if you have $250 you want to part with. Would I go back? Probably not. Not that I didn’t like it; it just wasn’t that memorable enough for me to want to come back.
