Essentially you can upgrade your 12 PRO MAX to a 13 PRO MAX for $100+tax, which is a no-brainer since your 12 is going to depreciate way more than the 13 over the next 12 months. I’ve also traded in 5 of my Xfinity SE’s for 13 Mini’s for $330+tax. Quick Q&A:
- Do I have to add a line? NO YOU DON’T. IT’S A PURE DEVICE UPGRADE.
- You HAVE to place the online order for IN STORE PICKUP. If you walk into a store and do the deal, you won’t get the full tradein value of the phone. If a phone is out of stock at stores around your area, play around with the variations to see if you can place the order now for pickup in November.
- What do you do if you still owe money on the phone for Xfinity? Doesn’t matter if the phone is in your house or in Best Buy’s warehouse – you’ll still be paying it off until you finish the 2 year contract
- There is no dropdown option for XFINITY. Just pick UNLOCKED. When you trade it in, they don’t check if it’s unlocked at all. They just want to make sure the phone is in good condition.
- Can I trade in a Tmobile phone if I’m still paying it off and getting credits? Yes, similar to the question above – it doesn’t matter if the phone is being used or in Best Buy’s warehouse.
- Can I use the same Tmobile phone number? YES
- How many times can I do it? Seems to be a limit of 3 per Best Buy account. I don’t know when BBY resets that.
- Can I unlock the phone? Yes, it seems the device does need to light up on the TMO network for 40 days; after that, you can request it to be unlocked. If you want to sell it as UNLOCKED, I’d just leave the plastic on and tell your buyer you opened it to unlock.

Here’s what I did for a similar deal.
Bought an Amazon “Renewed” unlocked phone compatible with Xfinity.
Created a new Google Voice number.
Paid the $3 to unlock the GV number.
Signed up for Xfinity with the Google Voice number, entering the “Port-out” info provided by Google.
Waited a week for the Porting to complete.
Activated the phone with the new number.
Waited until https://xfinityincentivetracker.com/ started tracking my promo, another few days.
Took the SIM out, factory reset, and returned the phone to Amazon.
Waited 90 days & got an email my account qualified for the promo.
Now I’m waiting for the Visa to arrive…
I have an iPhone se (2nd) generation sitting around from work I’m not using. Phone is for verizon. Can I do an upgrade to one of my T-Mobile phones ?

I did the costco where you bring your own line and get $300. Would device upgrade work in this case?
Costco and a phone line has nothing to do with this offer.
I mean once we upgrade our device would it have an affect on costco $300 rebate for bringing in a new line. According to terms it doesn’t seem like it but you never know with these rebate scams
Costco doesn’t care what PHONE you are using. There is no REBATE with this deal.

Does this only work with a 12? I have an iPhone 8? It is charging me $699 for the phone and giving me $245 for the trade in. T-Mobile offered me $350 for my phone.
