I’m not quite sure when this happened, but I’m guessing some time in May because I kept getting emails about moving to Ebay managed payments or else I won’t be able to sell anymore. I’m not sure why I get these emails since I’m currently banned from them. Anyway, I started a new account a few weeks ago and was forced to enter in the last 4 of my SSN to verify identity and later on, when creating a listing, there was no option to pick Paypal anymore. I guess the Paypal/Ebay era has officially ended.
