You should really open a Schwab checking account

One thing I’ve noticed with all these echecks from the coin buyers and buying groups is how great having a Schwab checking account is. My local CU has like a 3-5 day holding period for all checks over $5K. Most banks also have something like a $10K mobile check deposit limit. The best checking account out there that I’ve used/heard is the Schwab checking account. You guys should all already have one, especially if you travel internationally (ATM fees refunded and the best way to get foreign currency.)

The Schwab checking account has a $100K daily mobile deposit limit. Not only that, as I was typing this post at 11PM PST, I just did a mobile upload of a $10K check and it CLEARED and IS AVAILABLE in my checking account after 5 minutes. I’m sure it’s because it’s from a sender I’ve used in the past already, but I do remember depositing an 11K and 27K check for the first time back in November and it cleared it within 24 hours. Since then, checks clear in under an hour. I just got tired of waiting 5 days for my local CU to clear a $50K check. Thus, I highly recommend everyone to open up a Schwab checking account.

  1. FYI for joint account holders who go through a divorce, Schwab permitted my ex-husband to clear an account and notified me of the event the same day he cleared it. Citi then permitted him to cash a joint check with no signatures, and Schwab said nothing. So buyer beware for joint account holders.
