It’s been a while since I’ve had a card shutdown. This was the first time I’ve heard of a Paypal PPBDC shutdown. I’m surprised they didn’t wipe out my entire account – it’s just the card. No word yet on whether I can get another one down the road.
What caused it? Well I had the 2% promo on the card and was running about $3K on the card about 5-6 days a week during the entire 2-3 month promo period. Some days, I went a bit more. The odd thing is that I know a guy who went full throttle and did almost the daily max, and his wasn’t shut down, so very odd. Oh well. I’m sure they weren’t going to resurrect the 2% promo again anyway.
Cycling will get you every time. I’m so glad the card companies universally are cracking down on what I (and likely they) would consider abusive behavior. The cards were not intended for you and others to Max them and hopefully all of you get shutdown for these actions.
