I was applying for the AMEX Schwab Platinum card the other day and got a PENDING message.
I also got the email to check on my status, but the link said they were updating their systems. I called the next day to check on the status and the overseas rep told me I had hit the limit on charge cards already (I had 9 personal and 1 business.) I then PROACTIVELY asked if I could close one of the charge cards and get approved for the Schwab. He said, “Sure, but I have to transfer you.”
He then transferred me to an American rep (prob more senior,) who also told me I had hit the limit. I then asked her if I could close one of the GREEN cards. She said, “Sure” and then put me on a 2 minute hold. That’s when I got the APPROVAL EMAIL, even before she got back on the line. So, yes, the 10 CHARGE card rule is in effect. Guess I should have gone over it when I had the chance. Oh well.
Watching sadly after getting nixed by the RAT team in the Spring. Anyone have experience with how long bans last?
I think we all know you’ll have zero soon enough…
What 10 charge cards do you have? And why?
