Be careful of cancelled show ticket refunds

I had some show tickets (non-Ticketmaster but Ticketmaster back-end) that were cancelled a few weeks ago. Luckily, the venue refunded the tickets promptly. However, upon checking my credit card statement, I only received $480 out of $530 refunded. I looked at my original invoice and it turned out they didn’t refund the $50 in service fees. I emailed them and it turns out that their ‘batch processing refund’ only refunded the ticket cost, and so they had to manually refund the remainder back to my credit card.

What kind of BS is that? Sure, I’m glad i gott taken care of, but what if I didn’t check my credit card statement? Or worse, what if they had refused and said some BS about not refunding service charges? The charge was over 6 months ago, which would have been difficult for me to dispute the charge at that point.

With all these ticketing companies having cash flow issues these days, I highly suggest you be diligent about tracking all of these ticket refunds.
